I was born in 1963 in Civitavecchia, a port on the coast of Lazio, 70 km north of the capital. My father was of Sicilian origin, from Paternò, on the slopes of Etna. My mother instead civitavecchiese, but with Tolfetan ancestry and Ciminesi because of his grandfather. Registered in the municipal registry as Salvatore Magrì, I have always been called Sandro by everyone, because my mother likes it more. I studied first at the scientific high school “Galileo Galilei” in Civitavecchia, and then Physics at the University of Rome I “La Sapienza”. Master’s degree (old system) with 110/110 e Lode. Military service for one year (not very useful) in the Navy
For over thirty years I have been involved in Internet, Computer Networks, Unix, Linux and ICT Security, among the pioneers in Italy. I lived in Civitavecchia, Genoa, Elba Island (Marciana), and in Fontana di Papa, in the Municipality of Ariccia (the city of porchetta) of the Castelli Romani.
I travelled a lot for business reasons. A bit throughout Italy: Naples, Florence, Pisa, Bologna, Milan, Campobasso, Catania, Palermo for example. And abroad in Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil, Azerbaijan, France, Romania.
